The founder and outgoing president of the Association des Véhicules Électriques du Québec (AVÉQ), Simon-Pierre Rioux, announces his resignation after ten years in the position.
An inspiring project
“In 2013, we were a handful of enthusiasts who had the spark for electric vehicles, and the creation of the AVÉQ was the perfect way to bring us together and offer us a single strong voice with government authorities. I am extremely pleased with what we have accomplished together over the past ten years. Thanks to our dedication and commitment, electromobility has become a reality in Quebec, and our association has been an important catalyst in this revolution that has created many followers and allowed me to forge strong friendships along the way,” says Mr. Rioux, believing that it is time for him to step down and make room for other enthusiasts and visionaries to continue the AVÉQ’s mission.
Achievements
Thanks to him, the AVÉQ has succeeded in raising awareness of the importance of electromobility, promoting the use of electric vehicles, ensuring solid legislation to support owners, and encouraging the installation of fast charging stations throughout the province. In addition, over the years, many exciting events have taken place, such as trade shows, information booths and social gatherings that have brought together people with similar interests.
Future of the AVÉQ
Simon-Pierre Rioux is convinced that the Association des Véhicules Électriques du Québec will continue to thrive and evolve thanks to the commitment of its dedicated directors and volunteers. Electromobility will continue to develop and grow in Quebec, and the association will continue to play an important role in this transformation.
A final word
“Although I am stepping down from my current position, I remain committed to our common mission and will continue to work to promote our values and vision,” said Mr. Rioux.
